Brain principles:
Synergy
Synergy = 1 + 1 >
2
In context with your brain this principle
means that one thought will lead to another thought and
another, etc.
I give you an example:
You're at work and somehow you hear that a
very important letter is waiting for you at home. How
many different thoughts will arise due to this knowledge?
This way of thinking is called "divergent thinking"; from
one thought many other thoughts come to live as
well.
The nature of our brain functions as
follows. When we push our brain to think more, brain
neurons start to try to make more connections with other
neurons.
What we think, how we think and how we think about thinking
will change the biological structure of our brain.
This also means that this influences our capacity of being
creative.
Our synergetic brain capacity influences our capacity for
creativity in this way as well. Creativity basically is based
on our knowledge of today. This knowledge can lead to new
combinations of this very same knowledge. When we start to link
these ideas we start to get new ideas, which will lead to new
ways of thinking again. We call this
creativity.
This also explains the steep learning curves
we make on our technological developments. Every new
generation of people start with the accumulated knowledge
of their last generations. This forms their basis for
further developments.
This is the new springboard for this
generation
Every discovery forms the basis for a higher
and wider form of knowledge.
For example look at the developments of our computer technology
of the past 15 years. The internet has taken care of the fact
that knowledge can be distributed even faster and wider than
ever before. Due to this development our knowledge has grown
exponentially.
Most people are not aware of this principle.
When these people take a course they are often getting
frustrated. Arguments used by these people sound often
like:
'I already was aware of this information! I didn't learn a lot
of new things!' and as a result they often stop to think at
all.
These people do not want to use the
principle of synergy.
Realize this: Suppose you're at this same course and only 1% of
the material is new. This new information could result into new
insights if you would link this new information to your
existing knowledge.
GIGG: Garbage In, Garbage
grows
Many people have a very negative way of
communicating to their selves.
On average we have 40.000 thoughts per day. Suppose that these
thoughts are negative, our brain will start to build a
knowledge database, in which all negative thought will stick.
Every new thought has synergetic power. Our "knowledge" will
grow exponentially. Negative thinking, pessimism and cynism
will produce more of the same.
What would happen within a company if we would implement this
same way of thinking?
How differently would we talk about others or the business
developments?
If you think in terms of garbage, what else
could you expect as a result other than Garbage
out?
The GIGG principle can be reversed as well;
Good In, Good Grows.
In this scenario we actually feed our brains with good stuff.
The brain doesn't care whether the way we talk to ourselves is
positive or negative. It will only listen to our internal
commands.
So basically the choice is up to you. I hope you realize
this.
In most cases you are in command of your own results.
You
decide whether it is GOOD OR BAD.

Let's move on to the brain principle:
